Pastry Chef (Entry Level)
(x1 Position Available)
Rocket Foods is a manufacturer of handmade high quality sweet and savoury products. We supply to Cafés, Restaurants, Supermarkets and Food Stores across New Zealand. We make food we are proud to share with our friends, family and customers.
We are looking for a Pastry Chef to join our busy team in Penrose, Auckland, due to increased demand for our products.
You will be working in our recently commissioned a state-of-the-art production facility with our enthusiastic food loving team.
Responsibilities include:
· Hand making traditional Kiwi savoury
· Making French style and Kiwi desserts
· Work on baking schedules for large orders
· Health & Safety – Active involvement in health and safety management
· Food Safety – FCP & HACCP – assist in the management and control of Food Safety
· Work under supervision of senior chefs
Experience and skills that you will need:
· Ideally 1-year experience in similar roles
· Experience working in a production environment
· Ideally qualified pastry chef
· Strong organisation and planning skills
· Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure and solve practical problems on the run
· Specialised food manufacturing/ food hygiene training (HACCP) and training or work experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
· Workplace Health & Safety practice expertise
· Willingness to learn
· Good communication skills
· Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand
